Under Renovation!

Please note that James Sterrett's IRC CPX page has just merged with the TacOps Headquarters site. Your patience is appreciated as we work on reorganizing the site and restoring all the links. James will continue to be the overseer of this page and all related CPX files and pages.

TacOps IRC CPX Page

created by James Sterrett

Created to support the play of multi-player double-blind games of TacOps in near-real time via Internet Relay Chat.

Demon Internet suggests that pages with adult material provide a warning of same. Thus:

Warning: This page contains only adult material. Children and porn-seekers will find it very dull.

This page has been created to support the play of TacOps IRC CPX games.

Please note that I have just opened a Geocities version of this page. It more than doubles the space available to me! This should allow more map files &c to be posted. The two sites interlink as needed, without any special warning (other than this paragraph.)

The CPXes (Command Post Exercises) are double-blind, umpired games of TacOps played by teams of people from around the globe, all connected by IRC.
For more information, see the FAQ.

On this page, you should be able to find the following:

* The IRC CPX FAQ and the CPX Umpire's FAQ

GMT, currently: GMT

(Reload the page to update the time. Seems not to work with Internet Explorer... solution being sought. For the time being, if the above clock doesn't work, try this one.)

* After-Action Reports Descriptions and analysis of CPXes that have been run, and also some related text files.

* A complete set of TacOps Maps in .bmp format - includes maps 1-12, 14-16, & 100. (All the maps in the original game plus the expansion kit); also available in gif format.

Map 200 whose printable version for some reason did not get onto the TacOps CE CD..

TacOps version of NTC's Southern Corridor.

Map 230 as a zipped .bmp file.

Map 220 as zipped .bmp files.

Playable Maps:

Christmas 1997 Maps from Major H: Bigger map and Smaller map.

* And finally a couple of links to sites of relevance to TacOps CPX games:

Chimera's TacOps Resource Site including MBX/CPX information

Riki Tikki's TacOps Scenario Headquarters is a general site for scenarios and maps.

Avalon Hill used to sell TacOps. Now it is not clear who will be selling TacOps... watch this space.

BCT (Brigade Combat Team) is a lot like TacOps; look into ProSIM for information and a demo.

I swore I wasn't going to have one of these damn things. I did, I did, I did. Ask Corinne - she'll vouch for me! But, um, website editing is a disease. You want to do more with it. You want to feed your pathetic ego with delusions of grandeur. And you want to know how many people it took to get a bandwidth useage warning from Demon.

And so, after all this, we have a counter.

Counter visitors have fled this site since 1 March 1997.
