During peacetime conditions, squadrons deploy at roughly half-strength, leaving the other half at port to undergo training ops and general routine maintenance. Generally, half a squadron is equal to 2 or 3 subs

Key code:

Black -- In port (DEFCON 5 = 72-hour call, DEFCON 4 = 24-hour call, DEFCON 3 = Ready for immediate deployment.)
Blue -- Out on patrol
Dk. red -- Undergoing repairs/overhaul
Red -- Sunk in US-Malaysia war
 
Boats typically serve a three month tour of duty, including transit time to and from patrol area.
